After answering this question on Quora I was inspired to expand on it more here.
Alot can be said about this First you need to approach it from as many angles as you can. Yes there is a physical component, but it’s not the only thing, and at the deeper level it’s usually not the real cause especially with chronic illness.
You also need to heal trauma, limiting beliefs, negative emotions contributing to it.
What tends to happen is that certain organs are connected to different dominant emotions. For example if you’ve had intense anger from your childhood it might suppress your liver, this makes it easier for toxins and infections to settle there.
What do the toxins and infections do?
They numb you down so you don’t have to feel these emotions. As you start to deal with these the emotional component will come up, yes it can be painful but it means you can deal with it instead of it being unconscious and causing illness.
Trauma in general suppresses every system of your body and your Immune System. Our body is designed to go up into fight and flight when something happens, then naturally go back down. But with chronic stress and trauma you can get stuck in this. It might be subtle and unnoticed if it’s all you know, but over the long term it really does cause issues to your entire system.
In some ways it’s like it’s trying to bring awareness to ‘Hey this needs to be dealt with’ and gets louder each time until you listen.
That’s a general overview. But then there’s another angle and that is “What’s the most important component of recovery and healing right now for you?”.
In most cases you can’t go straight for the deeper stuff, as you aren’t ready for it and you need to deal with other things first before accessing the deeper layers. Treat it on it’s level and the levels below, which means if a dominant emotion caused your organs to be suppressed then you get an infection, then you need to deal with the infection, possibly detoxing in alot of cases AND also deal with the emotions too as at the deeper level that’s what allowed the physical issues to develop.
Depending on what you’re dealing with and where you’re at, different things will be important for you right now. Over time that will change and more things might be beneficial for you as you get more healthier and your system is able to handle it.
The best way to figure this out is using Autonomic Response Testing (ART) which you can find out about by reading “Your Body Knows How To Heal”.
ART helps to know what is most beneficial for me. Several times in my journey i’ve tested certain things that i’ve researched as beneficial and ART has said no, which in some cases can mean “Not now”. And then a few months later as I got more healthy, dealt with more layers, and healed a bit more then it tests as “Yes, it’s now beneficial”.
The awesome thing about ART is it takes alot of this guesswork out. It helps you narrow it down to which system of the body needs help and in the order of priority. Say you have a certain issue, like heavy metals. There might be some good things like greens powders to help bind them and flush them out of your body, and you might just give them to any person who has mercury for example.
But for some people, for some reason it might not be ideal. I’ve had that a few times recently, where the greens powder i’d usually recommend tests as “No” but other things test as “Yes”. Sometimes I don’t know exactly why, but through the testings i’ve done, and through my own journey i’m learning to trust it. Sometimes I don’t understand what’s going on and then after a few weeks of applying what was suggested then I understand.
It takes the guesswork out, and sometimes even if I don’t know logically WHY something is coming up, trusting it and going with it is proving to be beneficial.
Our Autonomic Nervous System knows the issue and how to heal, what we want to do is go through the blockages to that, deal with them so we can start to heal naturally.
Right now i’m offering the first session of Autonomic Response Testing for $80 a session. The good thing is that after the first session you will take 1-2 months to apply what you’ve been given, see the benefits and then the process is to do another session to find the deeper layers that have now come up and start to work on them.
Sessions are usually around 1 1/2 to 2 hours and include a writeup of what I find, plus email followup if you have questions.
